History

Southern Careers Institute has been providing students with opportunities for education for nearly 50 years. Originally founded in 1960, Southern Careers Institute expanded to its present facilities in October of 1991.

In 1992, Southern Careers Institute added both medical and business programs and opened two new branch facilities - one in Pharr, Texas, and the second in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 1994, Southern Careers Institute opened a new branch in San Antonio, Texas and added a pharmacy technician program to its curriculum.
